Ever?

Ever have those moments where you ask, "What's it all about, Alfie?" Maybe you don't use the word Alfie, 'cos you don't know any Alfies but still, have your ever had that Peggy Lee moment where you ask, "What's it all about, is that all there is?"

Ever been up early, sitting still in the fresh morning, while your house slept. Just you and the dog on the couch. Ever realised how long I have been without silence? There is always something happening in my world. Always. If not physically then always mentally.

I have been sick, had to speak about the book yesterday, did an average job but it was hard to push through as I wanted to go home and sleep. When the unwell veil falls it is hard not to go into the world is a toilet mode. But I know it is not real, but body is just reacting to the stress and strain of the last few months. Releasing the toxic energy and begging for some respite from the battle. Crying for silence.

Have you ever wanted to scream, "Shut up everyone, I want to hear nothing." Nothing but the sound of the worlds' quiet breaths and thoughts. That is what I heard this morning, the world was thinking. Just thinking quietly.

It sounded good.

And that is the very reason for the saying "What is the sound of one hand clapping?" It is the sound of silence (Garfunkle moment here)..... The world seems to be abuzz with changes, and those changes are becoming very loud for us tender souls. I will sit in silence with you for a while my friend....xox..

Darling I am sure you did a wonderful job. What would THE GOOD DOCTOR say of you being struck with a problem of the voice just when you have to get up and speak?
I just saw Ep 1 of Tru Blood (HBO vampire series from Six Feet Under crew) and the main character can hear everyone's thoughts. It is HIDEOUS. You will appreciate it.

Yes, I thought about the symbolism of the voice thingy. Something about lack of creativity and the world closing in on me etc.
Anyhoo, made it through, met some lovelies and was all the better for it.
What is with all the Vampire entertainment at the mo'?
It is mildly concerning, don't we have enough sucking us dry beside entertainment?

Well I can vouch for the fact that the speaking went very well. I was so glad to be there and meet you in person and would not have known you were ill - very professional. Your talk really resonated with the book and was full of that lovely humour you have about all things. I think those there that hadn't read the book took something away with them and those that had read the book had a deeper understanding and connection. It was re energising!!!

I used to curse my old dog for waking me every night in the early hours to be let out for a toilet call but now I bless her for it enables me to stand in my garden look at the stars, the moon and commune with all the night creatures. This is a very special quiet time for me that I have learnt to treasure. I will think of you tonight as I listen to the caterpillars munch their way through my veggies - the curse of being organic.
