Rehab

I have been addicted to the news lately. Not sure why, as usually I like to view the world news and events from a more global, metaphysical perspective. Somehow this news overload has resulted in stress, panic and anxiety attacks. Combined with some bad news around me from outside forces, I was dragged down into the tar.

Deciding to drag myself out has meant a few rules.

 1. Watch the way I speak, positive and not negative. Push the thoughts away and if positive is too hard to find then at least remain neutral.
2. Ban all news!!!!!
3. Remain in the present and do not fast forward ahead in the movie in my mind.
4. Create strong goals for the future. Big and small, they all work together to create something.
5. Get connected to people and things you love. People who listen, love and laugh with you.
6.Get some perspective. Don't look at other peoples situations, good or bad and compare them to your own. We all have different experiences, instead look at what is going on for you in the broader context of your life. This one moment does not define you and what you have done so far.

Astrowise we are about to embark on the Grand Mutable Cross Full Moon that will happen December 12 at 22 degrees of Gemini and Sagittarius.
Whilst it can be harsh, it is almost like an astrological solvent, breaking up all the obstacles that are stopping us from doing and being what we are Meant to be.
We are returning to values. What matters to you?

Robert Wilkinson says it best:

Do not get discouraged by the pressures you encounter, since genius is in the air! Practice perseverance, appreciation and cooperation, preside over your "mystery ritual," be alert to who is making excuses for non-action, and take advantage of unusual or sudden developments by being decisive, simple, efficient, and alert.

Go for the values that can be recognized and rewarded within your social setup, develop your social intuition, and be wholehearted in pursuing the goals that truly matter to you. Stay sensitive to consequences connected to details, awaken others to what's important that they're not seeing, and disregard the lesser considerations when greater things are at stake.

Take nothing for granted, skillfully display your enthusiasm, and don't get bogged down or diverted by disputes that only deflect you from your major obligations.

Over and out!

The news addiction is an interesting phenomenon of our times. But we can't let the media suck us in to their negative and sensationalist way of presenting the facts. I think we all know that drama makes good copy. The rules are great and I know I will use them too.

As a family we are blessed to be involved with a place called Wollangarra which is in the high country near Licola in Gippsland. This is a not for profit organisation which has a farm on the McAlister River which was all built from recycled materials and runs completely sustainably, no electricity, no sewer etc. They run camps for young people to introduce them to the mountains and to help care for the mountain environment. I love that they are so disconnected from the news and just live in nature and in the moment every day. They almost completely feed themselves from the Veggie garden. The team that run the place are the happiest, most contented people I know. This is what they share and engender in all those that visit them. It is a magical, special place. If you are interested check out their website www.wollangarra.org.

So when we talk about values this is the place and people I think of and feel content, safe and loved.
