Hot fun in the Summertime
Hot here today and will be spent cooling with Blessed and our changelings at local watering hole. I am being thrifty as I have big financial goals and not to much to achieve them with, so I am taking a picnic. I am constantly amazed at how easily I spend money on nothing. My friend who is a financial journalist told me after interviewing millionaires for years, they all had one thing in common. They took their own lunch to work. Yesterday Gandalf was directing a video shoot with one of Australia's richest men. Seriously rich, bodyguards etc. You know what? He took his own lunch!! OMG! He pulled out a 3 boiled eggs and a roll from the BBQ he had the day before. Funny, maybe the rich know something me in the middle class don't, watch where your money goes!

Being frugal is the word for this year in our home/office. Make your own muesli, bread, coffee from the coffee machine instead of at a cafe. I even bought a second hand Fowlers Vacola preserving kit last week and intend to preserve my own tomatoes this year - no more imported cans from Italy! Good for the purse - even better for the environment. Have even been making delicious Raspberry & Strawberry jam. And you know what it makes you feel so good to know that your family and friends are eating food prepared with love and you know exactly what goes into it.
We all need to take a leaf from our Grandmothers' books (those that grew up in the Depression) and it is only now that I respect all those money saving ideas that they had. They were the best recyclers I know.

Agreed Minerva. Picnic was fabulous, spent almost no money today and am feeling virtuous in all the right places.
