Release

I am filled with a head cold that seems to be getting worse. Interesting. I was on top of the world last week. Down the bottom of the bed this week. So boring. I have much to do and no energy to do it with. The only thing I seem to be able to do at the moment is my family tree. I don't know why but I have been addicted to researching the gene pool on all sides for a few months now. It is mindless, historical and takes in my great love of research. I am thrilled to find I come from a long line of nobodies. I went grave hunting on the weekend and discovered family in a few different cemetery's. The kids loved it, although Scorpio daughter kept thumbs held firmly in fists, which according to superstition protects you and your parents in a graveyard and hummed the 'Ghostbusters' theme at any given moment.

I am intrigued as to why I like doing the ancestry shuffle so such at the moment. It could be planetary, although not sure what transit pushes the genealogy button? I am humbled by the family who at such a young age got on a ship to a country just settled and started a new life, sometimes even without the language. I have a great grandmother who had 12 children in different towns and birthed many of them by herself. She could not read or write and was so, so young with such huge responsibilities. It stops me in my tracks and reminds me what paths she and other family created for us to be here.

Mercury conjuncts Jupiter today, which gives us a chance to see the big picture. I look forward to the screening.

Leunig wrote a lovely poem about colds in The Prayer Tree. I can't find it online but the gist of it was that people with colds are blessed as they can sit on the sidelines and watch in a foggy daze. But he said it better (!!!).

There is nothing worse than a summer cold, especially now that summer has actually arrived. Double dose on vit C works really well for me. Make sure your beloveds give you plenty of TLC. Take care and read lots!!!
