Peacockery

Many years ago, when I was about 10, my family went through a tumultuous time. Illness, stress, addiction and despair hung over our house like a mushroom cloud. As a ten year old there is jack shit you can do but hide in the tree house and make up stories in your head about being a travel agent/detective.

My Scorp sister and I had beautiful peacock feather fans in our room from India and one day my mother came waddling into our room in a full torso body cast and threw the peacock fan away in a frenzy. Why? Because she was told that bringing peacock feather indoors will bring back luck to the home. I would like to now tell you that this act of purging the bad luck feather, cleansed our house and we all came together and healed and became the most functional family in the world. No dice my friends. But I do think this act was my mother saying 'Enough' to the universe. It was a small moment of her trying to bend and change her current reality. I get it, as I recently realised that my lucky bamboo has been in the bathroom at work. I moved it back to my office and things shifted. The Goddess Bookkeeper and I laughed, the luck was going down the toilet. Shifting things in this way, is you changing what you can in sometimes uncontrollable situations.

Feathers, lucky bamboo, activating Feng Shui corners. It all counts. It works especially well when combined with facing up to your current situation and doing some good old hard work or clever thinking to get out of the mushroom cloud you maybe smothered within.

Persian kings and queens always sat on peacock feather designed thrones, with the designed filled with precious stones as to represent life. A throne maybe hard to come by, but you can buy these divine Persian Peacock earrings I have shown here. I am off to babysit a certain Persian Princess I know, they would be lovely gift to her when she a big girl. She loves a little bling, like most princesses.

Later.

Stop freaking me out Dreamweaver! I just bought a new peacock cushion to take pride of place in my newly rearranged lounge room. (:
