My life in rewind
Insane dreams about adult twins I know, one whom was talking to me Sylvia Plath and the other one as Diane Arbus. WTF? When I mentioned this to them, they accused me of being culturally pretentious! Pretty funny, since they were the ones channeling the bell jar and the Kodak brownie master.
Then I saw a aeroplane being flown backwards and crashing, I wondered if Gandalf was on the plane. I then paused within my dream and thought, am I on rewind?
I woke up wondering about the rewind button in life. Would you rewind it if you were able? I will be honest and say yes. There are few things I would have rather not have felt, experienced, seen or heard. Better choices I could have made and kinder words.
I have spent much time worrying about things that never happened and wasting my energy. Not recognising when the shit was going down and then taking to long to process the disaster zone afterwards. ‘Woulda, coulda, Prada!’ To quote Will & Grace.
The Good Doctor and I spoke the other night and she mentioned to me that whatever challenges we face right now, we must remember that it was not as intense as the set of ones before that, and the ones before that and so on. Baby steps and small wins is what it will take to get steady again.
The goal is big but the actions are small that will help us to achieve this. Keep on keeping on!
