Being here

Port Melbourne Pier - 7.23am

Being in the now means accepting what comes your way in that moment. Not resisting and instead acknowledging it but letting it define you. It is an interesting theory to me, as this goes against what I have been taught by society, family, etc.

This new thinking has been put to the test for the last two days as I have been kicked out of home early and not allowed to come home till late due to a film being shot in my house. Last night, I had a dog, two kids and no where to go for dinner. Instead I found a gorgeous Japanese restaurant and we sat outside on a warm night and ate together. It was very zen and a nice end to the day.

This morning we had to be out by 7am. No easy feat for us, trust me. Scorpio changeling had choir practise. So the Pisces Changling and I took the dog down the beach. Five hot air balloons floated over Melbourne. The water on the bay was as still as mill pond. The beach clean and the sun shining, the waning moon high in the sky. In that moment it was good to be here.

Happy Friday my friends.

Isn't amazing the places you end up being by circumstance, that if someone or something hadn't pushed you to be there you wouldn't. I find that usually when I am pushed out of the routine or the norm, then I see and feel the most beautiful things. Your memory of this morning will be imprinted on your mind as one of those beautiful pictures that you will call on when you need to feel calm. If you had just been at home doing the usual things you wouldn't have had this experience and wouldn't have shared it with others to be inspired by. Thanks for the inspiration.

I am being pushed out of my house tomorrow due to an open for inspection and it has given me the push to go to my parents and use their kitchen to preserve tomatoes and make sauce. I just didn't think I was going to get to this with the chaos that my life is. But by being forced out of my routine, it is now going to happen and we will all benefit from it through the year. Especially in the middle of cold winter when those beautiful summer tomatoes are smiling on the pantry shelf.

Embrace change.

Like a traveller in your own city. I love it. Silver linings all around... xo

Ah yes Minerva. The preserve making is a perfect task for your time. Time with your parents preserving tomatoes and preserving memories. Tomatoes symbolise, passion, love and desire. May you have all the passion, love and desire in the world.

Yes Louisa, Melbourne deserves its own shout out occasionally. She is a fine city indeed.
