Hope Floats

I watched a very sad documentary the other night, who had been through a terrible ordeal and then found out afterwards that she had cancer. She strongly believed that the stress bought on her cancer. It was sad and horrible for her and my compassion runneth over for journey she was on.

This morning I read a great article by David Servan Schreiber, a French Professor of Psychiatry whose studies on people with cancer have concluded that loss of hope is equivalent to a death sentence. Hope strengthens the immune system.

It is hard to find hope in the eye of the storm. There is always a light though in the distance. As I drove to work I saw the hot air balloons in the sky. The light from one of the burners shone in the morning sky, like a flicker of faith up above me.

Place hope in your heart, place hope in your soul, place hope in your life.

“In all things it is better to hope than to despair”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
