How the quest was won

Friday was spent with my Pisces Son who must have been a knight in a past life. He and I went on, in his words, 'a quest' to find a new dog to add to our family. We already have a dog but we thought two dogs would be nice. They could be friends.

We went into the world of lost dog homes to find our new friend. Two homes later and a long drive out of Melbourne, we encountered wrong maps, closed roads, detours and rough, unmade tracks to get to her.  She was waiting for us. I knew when I saw her that she was the one.

Our dog and the new puppy frolicked in the paddock together while the RSPCA handler assesed their compatibility. When our exisiting dog tried to protect her from the Shetland ponies in the paddock next door, the dog handler said that this was a match made in heaven - he now had a job and she had home.

Love is like that sometimes, there are unmade roads and obstacles but it can be worth it if you persevere.

Happy Monday.
