Connections

Gandalf had a clanger yesterday of a coincidence with an account we are pitching for. I look forward to seeing what flies.

Meanwhile I am still at home with child post surgery and feeling my creative urges bubbling under the surface. I am having dreams about not honoring to my creativity. These have been going on for a while. Creativity has a life and soul of its own. It screams at you to obey it, honor it, bow down before its altar. When did creativity become such a thing that we no longer do what is natural to us and connect to it everyday?  People say to me that I am lucky to work in a creative field, perhaps I am but much of what I do is  not creative but strategic and managerial. The creativity must come in other ways. My book, my writing, the way I communicate. My home, my children, my friends and my family all benefit suffer from my creative bent on the world.

When we are children that we take creativity for granted. It is natural as growing up then suddenly we start to judge it. Our voice of judgement starts to scream at us and we put down our creative weapon of choice. Sometimes it can take years of therapy and a life changing events for you to listen what was always inside you. The best thing to do is to always keep that creative side of yourself immature. Be open to coloring in, icing your cakes blue or green, dancing in the streets outside stores playing your fave songs and read books that make your heart sing. To love with abandon and play with small children and animals and not be afraid to do the silly voices. My whole life is made up of silly voices. It's boring life otherwise.

I am looking forward to seeing what is bubbling in me come to the surface. Who knows what it is and when it will arrive but I look forward to its arrival.
