Catch up

Dan Pink is a rockstar. Love his book, which I make people at work read, they tell me they enjoy it, what else are they gonna say? No, I think many of them do like it, the idea that right brain people are the future. Too much left brain thinking gives us Microsoft. Right brain gives us Jonathon Ive and Apple. This is not a MAC vs PC argument, it is about blending the power of creativity and science.

Here is a great conversation about incentives at work sent to me by a extremely right brained friend, and why the usual model doesn't work. When we are faced with 21st Century tasks then we need 21st Century reward schemes. Automomy, purpose and mastery. It's a big shift in the paradigm. People want to learn more, work in their own time, and be of service and important. It's not that hard.

He is ahead of his time and old school companies will always struggle with his thinking but the shift is there. Celebrate change, celebrate your right brain and celebrate the times we are living in.
