Riddle me this

Onwards with the Twelve Principles of the Hermetic Universe.

Operate in a metaphoric universe in which you can transfer ideas from one realm to another.

Throughout time we have seen the evolution of the consciousness and what we believe the universe to be. First there was the belief in supergods like Isis and Vishnu in different cultures. Then we moved onto the 17th Century perception that the world was flat and moved like a giant clock. Then in the 18th Century the idea of invisible forcefields and electronic phenomena was all the rage. There was even an early Norse myth that the universe begins when 'a giant cow licked the gods out of the salty lip of a primordial pit.' Alrighty. Whatever floats your boat.

Now, according to some, we are in the Age of Aquarius, where digital technology rules the day. People sit up all night to wait for the Preacher Steve Jobs to reveal his latest and greatest digital machine that will allow us to connect to the world faster and with Google as our God. The Minister Bill Gates is saving the world through his Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, inoculating everyone against disease through money gained from digital technology.

Some people think The Matrix is the new Book of Revelation.

For me, after all is said and done, I think we play mind games with each other and ourselves trying to solve what is intrinsically unsolvable. This lack of understanding how the world works is our hubris, our Tower of Babel. The Babel which turned to babble and stopped the world from communication as one is now digital code. Some of us have that language and some of us don't.

The idea of transferring ideas from one realm to another is more than just digital. It is about envisioning for a brighter universe for generations to come. It is about feeding your intuition and being more reliant on this than your computer which is basically a 'yes or no' machine.

In some respects we have not travelled past the 17th Century. We are still driven by the clock, the master of time, winding us up and letting us run down again.

I am no philosopher but I do believe in the transfer of ideas between people and continents without words or computers. Dreams, instinct and syncronicity.

I read a quote a long time ago and I cannot remember where and from whom but I shall try to paraphrase ( apologies to anyone who does know it and if I screwed it up)

It says, 'When man came out of the woods where he lived with the wolves and turned on the light, they lost all connection to the instinct that comes with being in the dark.'

I understand that. Do not be afraid of the dark, this is where your instinct lies and where you can get the answers you need to know, if you allow it to come to you.

And if you do write down the answers on your computer - don't forget to backup!!

Later.
