Listen up

I am back to a paper diary this year. I tried the electronic diary but there is something about seeing it all on the pge with thills me. Part schedule, part to do list, my new diary makes me happy and feels like an old friend.

The way we process information and the way we learn is unique to us. Some of us are visual learners, some auditory, some tactile, some reading and writing based. I think I am a combo of all. Is that possible?

Meanwhile, the Scorpio Daughter is panicking about a new teacher who seems not to rock the teaching style she is used to. Conflicting reports about this teacher last night on the school phone tree made me take the bull by the horns (as a Taurus this feels easier for me than others) and ask him outright about his style, support and process. Was the answer satisfactory? Not sure, I will remain open until I see her confidence level go up or down depending on his style.

My job last night was to tell her it would all be ok - which it will be and let her know Gandalf and I are onto it and that we and her teacher will support her. This is the role of the parent, to tell the child it will all be ok, always. Things will work out as they are meant to and to not stress about things that haven't happened yet.

Learning is hard for all of us. The best teachers are the ones who see the spark inside you and gently blow on it till it fires up your belly. I had some amazing teachers at school and at university, these are the ones I remember, not the crappy ones. Tony, Dawson, John, Alistair, Rylton, Fred, Derek, Dean. All of them saw something in me that I did not know existed and bough it to life and for that, I am grateful for my education.

Your education continues after school, it continues till the day you pop your clogs. The easiest way through is to find your learning style and where ever possible stick to it. I am about to go on a huge professional learning curve. Can I do it I bloody hope so. Do I want it? Yes indeed. The trick will be finding the right way to learn for me.

On another note, send out blessings for The Grecian Goddess who is in labor today. Venus trine Venus at 7.19pm tonight in her chart, so I expect news about then.
