Free Will!
Onwards with the Twelve Principles of the Golden Dawn. I missed last week due to reasons I no longer can remember. This weeks is interesting, I hope:
Be self-conscious and self-reflecting, using astrology, tools of divination, and metaphysical models of existence.
I love astrology, as many of you know but I am careful to remember it is just a set of data based on a set of statistics from similar astro transits. It's not set in stone and we still have free will. God Bless Free Will.
I also love tarot and all other esoteric tools. However I am am careful to take it all with a grain of salt. The best that I have received from my use of esoteric tools, particularly astrology, is to understand myself better. To self reflect and to be more aware of my strengths and weaknesses and where my emotional achillies heel lies within my soul.
I am never comfortable with people who blame all their negative traits on astrology. You know, "I have a bad temper becuase I have Mercury in Aries" or some such bullshit. Sometimes it's a combination of nature, nurture and just being a dick.
I think anything that makes us more self aware and evolved is beneficial. Therapy, astrology, yoga, drumming, swimming with whales or dolphins, whatever floats your boat.
Stay open my peeps and keep learning about yourself.
