Tres amusant, oui?
This morning I woke up laughing. Not just giggling but cackling for a good 20 minutes. Poor Gandalf. Remembering the dream now doesn't render such laughter. It is fascinating how dream emotions are always more intense. I like the love and laughter dreams, they feel so good, like an emotional snuggie.
Meanwhile, back to it today. A great article yesterday on organisation and getting yourself unstuck by the esteemed Penelope Trunk. Her advice is to:
- Clear your inbox. I did this yesterday and I now have 4 emails in it, down from 978.
- Have a single list and write down A, B, C for priorities next to the items on the list.
- Long term goals go down as A's
- Everyday, rewrite the list by hand. Maybe this imprints it in your mind somehow?
- Get all the A's done first!
Seems easy right? I have a feeling a delicate balance will be required to not get caught in the lesser priorities, because they are easier to tick off than the ones on the A list.
I am going to try this for a month and see if works for me. I think the great things about finding your routine, is to to try other peoples routines on for size. Taking a little from whatever works and forming it into your own groove is ideal.
Alrighty, off to write my list...by hand.
