Friends and other charms
This is the card I received in the mail from the divine Mrs. Underhill. I love you darling Contessa. Your joy in my new path resonates deeply in my heart.
Friends are everywhere and I am affluent with them. Friday, two old friends came back into my life after four years apart due to circumstances and geography. Three hours later, wine, duck and lamb shanks marked the occasion and never have I been so pleased to sit with them again.
Friday night, Blessed and Ram-Beau and their little Cherub came for Friday night pasta bake and a strategy to bring them closer to our 'hood.
Saturday, we shook with excitement as they bought a house but 800 metres from us and champagne was uncorked with joy.
A walk and a talk with the Joyous Squaw this morning, albeit on the phone but it was as close to perfect without her being there in person.
Now I await a weekend away with dear friends, a visit from The Good Doctor the weekend after and who knows what after that.
I added these friendships up - sixty years of friendship between them and I know we will have another sixty together.
Ah, life is grand, despite its bugbears and its challenges, it is the friends who walk beside us, who are there at the most inconvient times when others leave that make it worthwhile.
Happy days to you and ring a friend today and tell them you love them.
To all my dear friends, many of whom I know read this blog, I am so, so blessed to have you in my world. For accepting me as I am and still bothering to write me a card or drop me a line.
